Design Philosophy

The Manufacturing

MRC GRP doors are made from GRP (glass reinforced Polyester) encapsulating a high-density core with a door thickness of 50mm. Each doors has a smooth, non-porous gel coat finish with soft- pigmented colour. The doors are waterproof, moisture resistant and cannot peel or shed particles. Due to the rigid structure the door is light, durable, impact resistant and does not warp of colour fade.

Doors can be made to any size but below are some standard MRC dimensions.

Hinges

The hinge sets selected incorporate adjustable spring closers and damping actions. The holding power of the auto hinge at the closed position is 145kg. The restraint offered by the damping hinge is adequate to prevent the doors slamming shut in situations where room pressure differentials are such that the air pressure is assisting door closure. A hinge ‘hold open’ feature is available if required for both single and double swing applications. If required conventional stainless steel hinges can be provided.
